Whispers

A$2,200.00
sold out

DESCRIPTION

I would have loved to have titled this piece “Chinese Whispers” but on researching these delightful creatures, I learnt that koi were infact introduced to the Chinese by Japan, and in both cultures, are considered to represent good fortune. I just love the symbol that koi represent, courage, perserverance & strength in times of adversity. The fact that they swin upstream, against the tide, is a metaphor for the difficulties we encounter in our lives and how we learn to overcome them, building personal strength. I find them delightful to paint and enjoy capturing their movement and personalities. Sides painted, sealed with UV protective varnish and ready to hang. Signed on front..

MEDIUM

Acrylic and ink on stretched canvas.

SIZE

101.6cm (W) x 101.6cm (H) x 3.5cm (D)
