Opal Fire
DESCRIPTION
This painting was inspired by my passion for Australia's magnificent gemstones, opals. Perhaps it's their spectacular prismatic colour spectrum, that appeals to the artist in me, or the intriguing fact that something so magnificent, that has taken 5 to 6 million years to form, can be found deep in the arid desert region of Australia's outback. Although diamonds are the symbolic jewel associated with love, I honestly think opals are so much more beautiful!
MEDIUM
Acrylic and gold leaf on canvas, sealed and ready to hang.
SIZE
120cm (W) x 100cm (H) x 2cm (D)
