DESCRIPTION
Luminescent has a soft, warm glow, which I think gives a calming feeling to the viewer. This was achieved by using a combination of different mediums, which included acrylics, watercolour and oil sticks. It's the fourth of this series.

ABOUT THE SERIES
I have to confess that for many years, I was one of those people who never quite "got" the 'Colour Field,' artworks, that often take pride of place in galleries. Mostly painted on huge canvases, with no real content to speak of, the artist concentrating mainly on colour and texture.
A few years ago, I was encouraged to look into this style of art and I have to say that I think it's quite misunderstood. Appearing simple, until you actually have a go at creating a piece and realise it's quite the opposite. I am currently in the process of painting a series in this style and I am thoroughly enjoying the challenge. Realizing that not all homes have large wall spaces, I have purposely chosen small to mid-sized canvases, whose content relates to each other, which I think can still make a contemporary space pop!
