Geo Balanced

A$390.00

DESCRIPTION

Balanced is a fun piece, playing with vibrant opaque colour and shape. The solitary round shape is balanced between two bars, hence the title. It is the third of this series.

MEDIUM

Acrylic on stretched canvas, sides painted, sealed and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

SIZE

30cm (W) x 40cm (H) x 3.5cm (D)

ABOUT THE SERIES

I have to confess that for many years, I was one of those people who never quite "got" the 'Colour Field,' artworks that often take pride of place in galleries. Mostly painted on huge canvases with no real content to speak of, the artist concentrating mainly on colour and texture.

A few years ago, I was encouraged to look into this style of art and I have to say that I think it's quite misunderstood. Appearing simple, until you actually have a go at creating a piece, only to realise it's quite the opposite. I am currently in the process of painting a series in this style and am thoroughly enjoying the challenge. Realising that not all homes have large wall spaces, I have purposely chosen small to mid-sized canvases, whose content relates to one another. Although not huge pieces, I think can still make a contemporary space pop!
